Empowering Adults with Down Syndrome to Enjoy Vibrant Social Lives
What We're About
We believe that friendship is essential, and that adults with Down syndrome deserve spaces where they are welcomed, valued, and treated as equals. Turn Down For What exists to create those spaces. Our events are designed to feel social and age-appropriate, not clinical or programmatic, while still offering the support each participant needs.
We host informal monthly pop-ups around the NYC area (typically on Fridays or Sundays), special events, Adult Camp, and more. Each experience is thoughtfully planned to encourage independence, responsible decision-making, personal growth, and authentic connections.
